In Loving Memory of Brendan S. McKinney

The Celina, Ohio community is mourning the tragic loss of Brendan S. McKinney, 28, who died in a fatal semi–pedestrian crash during the early morning hours of Saturday, December 13, 2025.

According to the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office, Mercer County Central Dispatch received a 9-1-1 call at 3:14 a.m. reporting a traffic crash on U.S. Route 127, just north of the City of Celina in Jefferson Township. A preliminary investigation revealed that Brendan was walking near the middle of the roadway when he was struck by a southbound 2023 blue International semi-tractor and trailer.

The semi was driven by Rodolfo R. Garcia, 52, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, who was not injured in the crash. Tragically, Brendan was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Emergency response and assistance were provided by the Celina Fire Department, Celina EMS, Celina Police Department, Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT), and MCERV. The crash remains under investigation and will be forwarded to the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office for review.

Brendan’s sudden passing has left family, friends, and the entire Celina community heartbroken. He is remembered as a life taken far too soon, and his loss has created a profound void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

As loved ones grieve, the community continues to offer prayers, condolences, and support, honoring Brendan’s memory and holding his family close during this time of unimaginable sorrow. Brendan S. McKinney will be forever remembered and deeply missed.
