The community is mourning the tragic loss of Justin Acevedo, a 19-year-old resident of Catskill who passed away on December 12, 2025, in a devastating incident that claimed the lives of three people. Justin was fatally shot in what authorities are investigating as a murder-suicide at a property on 67 Forest View Drive.
According to New York State Police Troop F, the incident began when 22-year-old Connor Provo called Greene County 911 around noon and admitted to killing his friends. Troopers found Provo dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in a trailer on the property. Investigators later discovered Justin Acevedo and 34-year-old Clifford Beauchard, both from Catskill, dead from gunshot wounds in another structure on the property. Authorities believe Provo shot the other two victims before taking his own life.

Friends and family recall his warmth, laughter, and the joy he brought to those around him. His passing has left a profound void in the community, and those who knew him continue to mourn the senseless loss of a promising young life.
