SAN MARCOS, Calif. — The San Marcos community is mourning the loss of Benjamin Lo Cicero, 34, who tragically lost his life in a late-night traffic accident on Saturday, December 14.

According to authorities, Lo Cicero was struck by a Ford F-150 shortly after 11:30 p.m. in the 900 block of West San Marcos Boulevard. Deputies at the scene provided emergency care until paramedics arrived, but despite their efforts, Lo Cicero was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle, 54-year-old Daniel Vega, allegedly was under the influence of alcohol and was arrested on suspicion of DUI. Sheriff’s officials continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Lo Cicero’s untimely death has left a deep impact on his family, friends, and the San Marcos community. Those who knew him remember him for his warmth, kindness, and the positive influence he had on those around him.
