REMINGTON, Va. — The Remington community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Brayan A. Espinoza Martinez, 18, who passed away Sunday evening in a tragic single-vehicle crash on Freemans Ford Road in Fauquier County.
According to the Virginia State Police, the crash occurred at approximately 9:36 p.m. when the 2016 Ford Fiesta in which Martinez was a passenger reportedly encountered icy road conditions, causing the driver to lose control. The vehicle spun, left the roadway, entered a field, struck a ditch, and overturned. Authorities confirmed that Martinez was ejected from the car and was not wearing a seatbelt, and he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver, 20-year-old Kevin E. Espinoza Martinez, also of Remington, sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital. Virginia State Police have indicated that charges are pending, and the investigation remains ongoing.
