BUTLER COUNTY, Ala. — The community is mourning the tragic loss of Joseph Alexander Halford, 21, of Davie, Florida, who passed away Monday afternoon following a two-vehicle crash in Butler County.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) Highway Patrol reported that the crash occurred at approximately 4:20 p.m. on Alabama 10 near the 110-mile marker, about eight miles west of Greenville city limits. Halford was a passenger in a 2017 Hyundai Accent that collided head-on with a 2008 Lexus ES350 driven by 21-year-old Timothy Terill Beasley Jr., of Camden.
Tragically, Halford was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Beasley was injured and airlifted to Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery for treatment. The Hyundai’s driver, a 16-year-old juvenile, was also injured and transported to a local hospital for care.
Halford’s passing has left family, friends, and loved ones heartbroken. At just 21 years old, his life was suddenly cut short. Those who knew him remember his warmth, kindness, and the joy he brought to his family and friends.
Authorities continue to investigate the crash to determine contributing factors. While questions remain, the focus is on supporting Halford’s family and honoring his memory.
