MACON, Ga — An 18-year-old man has died following a shooting at a gas station in East Macon, authorities said.
The Bibb County Coroner, Leon Jones, confirmed the incident happened Wednesday at the Citgo gas station at 1904 Shurling Drive. The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office (BSO) said deputies responded to a 911 call at 11:57 a.m. and found the young man unresponsive with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Deputy Coroner Luanne Stone.
At this time, officials have not released additional details about the circumstances of the shooting. Investigators are actively working to gather more information.
