ELLICOTT CITY, Md. — The Ellicott City community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of 70-year-old Kelvin Bennett, who passed away Monday evening following a tragic two-vehicle crash in Aberdeen.
According to Aberdeen police, the collision occurred on December 15, 2025, at approximately 6:51 p.m. in the 200 block of South Philadelphia Boulevard along Route 40. Officers responded to reports of a crash involving two vehicles and found Bennett, a passenger in a Nissan Maxima, deceased at the scene.
The Nissan was driven by a 63-year-old man who suffered injuries and was transported to UM Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Aberdeen for treatment. The driver of the second vehicle involved, a 23-year-old man, sustained critical injuries and was airlifted by Maryland State Police Medevac to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he remains in critical condition.
The Harford County Sheriff’s Office Accident Reconstruction Unit responded to assist in the investigation. Authorities stated that no criminal charges have been filed at this time, but the investigation into the cause of the crash remains active.
