WILSON COUNTY, Tenn. — The Wilson County community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Teresa Wilson, 56, who was killed in a tragic interstate crash earlier this week, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

Authorities said the fatal collision occurred around 7 a.m. Wednesday on Interstate 840. Preliminary investigation shows Wilson was driving a 2015 Lexus R35 eastbound when her vehicle rear-ended a 2014 Toyota MTL. The force of the impact caused both vehicles to leave the roadway and overturn, resulting in a devastating scene along the interstate.

Teresa Wilson suffered fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Toyota, a 66-year-old woman, and her passenger were also injured. Both were transported for medical care, though officials have not released details about the severity of their injuries.

Emergency responders rushed to the scene as the crash caused a major traffic disruption on I-840 during the morning commute. Lanes were shut down for several hours while crews worked to assist victims, document evidence, and clear the overturned vehicles from the roadway.
