YAMHILL COUNTY, Ore. — Family, friends, and loved ones are mourning the loss of Skyler Wayne Goodwin, 29, of Waldport, who passed away early Thursday morning following a tragic single-vehicle crash on Highway 99W in Yamhill County.

According to the Oregon State Police, the crash occurred at approximately 4:44 a.m. on December 18, 2025, near milepost 30.5. Skyler was a passenger in a silver Toyota Camry traveling northbound on Highway 99W when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The car left the roadway on the right side and struck several trees before coming to an uncontrolled stop.

Skyler passed away at the scene as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.

Highway 99W was impacted for nearly four hours as emergency crews and investigators worked at the scene. Multiple agencies assisted in the response, including the Yamhill County Sheriff’s Office, Newberg-Dundee Police Department, Amity Fire Department, Lafayette Fire Department, McMinnville Fire Department, and the Oregon Department of Transportation.

Skyler Wayne Goodwin’s sudden passing has left a profound void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. As the community reflects on his life, loved ones are remembering him for the joy, kindness, and presence he brought to those around him.

The crash remains under investigation, and no additional details have been released at this time.
