Sheriff’s Office Identifies Bicyclist Killed in Grand Haven Township Crash
GRAND HAVEN TOWNSHIP, Mich. — The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office has identified the bicyclist who died following a multi-vehicle crash in Grand Haven Township on Sunday evening.
Officials report that the incident occurred around 6:13 p.m. on December 14 on Mercury Drive near Lake Avenue. The bicyclist, 25-year-old Deavieon White of Grand Haven, was traveling northwest on Mercury Drive when he was struck by a car moving in the same direction.
After falling from his bicycle, White was hit by two additional vehicles, one of which left the scene before police arrived. White was transported to a Muskegon-area hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The driver of the initial vehicle that struck White has been identified as a 62-year-old man from Grand Haven. Authorities are seeking information about the driver of one of the vehicles that fled the scene, described by witnesses as a white SUV driven by a woman estimated to be between 50 and 60 years old.
