REIDSVILLE, N.C. — The Reidsville community is mourning the loss of 23-year-old Micah Ferguson, who tragically died in a house fire Saturday morning on Piedmont Street.
According to the Reidsville Fire Department, firefighters responded around 10 a.m. to a report of a two-story residential fire in Rockingham County. Upon arrival, crews found heavy smoke and flames engulfing the home. Reidsville police informed firefighters that someone might still be inside. A second team entered the home as crews worked to contain the fire and discovered Ferguson deceased inside the residence.

A second person sustained significant burns and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Officials have not released information regarding the individual’s current condition.
The fire was ultimately extinguished, and the scene was secured. Authorities are investigating the cause of the blaze and have said more information will be released as it becomes available.
