WEST SENECA, N.Y. — The West Seneca community is grieving the heartbreaking loss of Paul Alvarez, a 16-year-old boy who was fatally struck by a pickup truck Thursday night on Clinton Street.

The tragic incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. on Clinton Street near Maplewood Avenue, according to West Seneca police. Authorities said Paul, known affectionately by family and friends as “Pablo,” was struck by a pickup truck under circumstances that are still being reviewed.


First responders arrived quickly and provided emergency medical care at the scene. Paul was then transported to Erie County Medical Center (ECMC), where he was later pronounced dead despite life-saving efforts.

Police confirmed that the driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene and fully cooperated with investigators. While the investigation remains ongoing, officials stated that no criminal charges are anticipated at this time.

The West Seneca Central School District released a statement expressing deep sorrow over Paul’s death, noting that he was a beloved student and friend whose passing has deeply affected classmates, teachers, and staff.

As the community mourns, tributes continue to pour in for Paul Alvarez  a young life lost far too soon. Thoughts, prayers, and condolences remain with his family, friends, and all those whose lives were touched by him during this incredibly difficult time.
