ERWINVILLE, La. — A Denham Springs man was killed Sunday afternoon following a two-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle in West Baton Rouge Parish, according to Louisiana State Police.
Troopers responded just after 4 p.m. on Sunday, December 21, 2025, to a crash on Highway 413 south of Highway 3091. Authorities identified the victim as Martin Laster, 52, of Denham Springs.
The preliminary investigation indicates that Laster was riding a 2015 Indian motorcycle northbound on Highway 413 when he entered a right-hand curve. At the same time, a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling southbound on the same roadway. For reasons still under investigation, Laster failed to negotiate the curve, crossed into the southbound lane, and collided head-on with the Chevrolet.
Laster sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries. Troopers confirmed that he was wearing a DOT-approved helmet at the time of the crash.
The driver of the Chevrolet Silverado was properly restrained and was not injured. Authorities said impairment is unknown at this time, though a toxicology sample was collected as part of the investigation.
The crash remains under investigation by Louisiana State Police.
