FALL RIVER — The Fall River community is mourning the loss of 34-year-old Jordyn Lyttle, who was killed when the bicycle he was riding was struck by a motor vehicle on Sunday.
Bristol County District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III announced that on December 21 at about 5:15 p.m., Fall River Police responded to the area of 214 Stafford Road for a report of a bicyclist struck by a vehicle.
Victim Identified by Authorities
Officers found Lyttle in the roadway suffering from serious injuries. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. Friends, family, and community members are remembering Lyttle as a kind and vibrant member of Fall River whose sudden death has left a deep void.
Hit-and-Run Vehicle Description
The D.A.’s Office said preliminary investigations suggest Lyttle was riding his bicycle when he was struck from behind by a green 2005 Subaru Legacy, which fled the scene. A second vehicle became involved after Lyttle entered the opposite lane. The driver of the second vehicle remained at the scene.
Ongoing Investigation
Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, along with Fall River Police, continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. Authorities are asking anyone with information about the hit-and-run vehicle to come forward.
