CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Va. — Dorothy M. Holian, 80, of Cumberland, Virginia, passed away Sunday evening following a single-vehicle crash on Mottley Mill Road in Cumberland County.
According to Virginia State Police, the crash occurred at approximately 5:46 p.m. just south of Old Buckingham Road. Holian was driving a 1999 Mercury Sable southbound when the vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway and struck a ditch.
She was transported from the scene to an area hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries. Police confirmed that Holian was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Virginia State Police continue to investigate the incident. No additional contributing factors have been released at this time.
