DENHAM SPRINGS, La. — The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office (LPSO) is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Sunday morning, leaving the community mourning the loss of Tyree Lionel Worthy, 22, of Baton Rouge.
According to LPSO, deputies were dispatched to Longwood Drive in Denham Springs at approximately 3:00 a.m. on December 21, 2025, following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, deputies found Worthy lying in the street with gunshot injuries. He was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Sheriff Jason Ard confirmed that detectives are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. “Based on the information we have at this time, this shooting was not a random act,” Ard said. “It appears to be an isolated incident connected to an overnight gathering or party at a nearby home.”

LPSO detectives are currently searching for a vehicle linked to the incident. The male suspect fled in a 2019 Chevrolet Impala, LA License 658CUG, which does not belong to him. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward to assist in the investigation.
