FALLING WATERS, W.Va. — The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that occurred late Wednesday night in the Falling Waters area.

On December 18, 2025, at approximately 10:15 p.m., Deputy Keller responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision in the 9300 block of Williamsport Pike. Initial information indicated that a passenger vehicle had struck a tree and that the driver was unresponsive.

Upon arrival, deputies and emergency medical personnel located a black Nissan Altima that had exited the roadway and collided with a tree. The female driver, later identified as Kristy Alger, 46, of Falling Waters, West Virginia, was found inside the vehicle.

Life-saving measures were immediately initiated at the scene; however, despite these efforts, Ms. Alger was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Sergeant Ritchie of the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting a crash reconstruction as part of the ongoing investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the collision.

Next of kin responded to the scene and were notified by authorities. The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the incident and will release additional information as it becomes available.

The sheriff’s office extends its condolences to the family and loved ones of Kristy Alger during this difficult time.
