The Barstow community is mourning the tragic and sudden loss of Vincent T. Rodriguez, a 66-year-old Barstow resident who died in a motorcycle crash early Tuesday morning, December 16, on the Interstate 40 Freeway.

According to the California Highway Patrol and the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office, the fatal crash occurred just after 7 a.m. on the eastbound lanes of I-40, east of Iwo Jima Street, within an active construction zone. Vincent was riding a 1992 Honda motorcycle when, for reasons still under investigation, he veered to the right and struck orange construction cones. Following the initial impact, the motorcycle continued toward the right shoulder, where it collided with a parked construction vehicle.

Vincent was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Despite emergency response efforts, paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene. Authorities stated that the investigation remains ongoing, though DUI is not suspected to be a factor in the incident.

Vincent’s passing has left his family, friends, and the greater Barstow community in deep mourning. He will be remembered for his life, the memories he shared with loved ones, and the presence he brought to those who knew him. As his family grieves this profound loss, the community joins them in offering prayers, strength, and heartfelt condolences.

May Vincent T. Rodriguez rest in peace, and may his memory live on in the hearts of all who loved him. 🕊️
