The communities of Toledo and Sylvania Township, Ohio, are united in grief following the tragic and untimely death of Kaniya Durr, a vibrant 20-year-old woman whose life was cut short in a devastating three-vehicle crash Tuesday evening.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the fatal collision occurred shortly before 5 p.m. on Holland-Sylvania Road. A 60-year-old Toledo resident, driving an SUV, attempted to make a U-turn when Kaniya’s sedan collided with the vehicle. The impact forced her car off the left side of the roadway and into the parking lot of a nearby gas station. Moments later, her vehicle re-entered the roadway, where it was struck by a minivan driven by a 41-year-old Toledo resident.

Despite the swift response of emergency crews, Kaniya was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities confirmed that all drivers were wearing seatbelts, and impaired driving is not believed to have played a role in the crash. The remaining individuals involved were not injured, though the emotional toll of the incident remains profound. The crash is still under investigation.

Kaniya’s passing has left her family, friends, and loved ones heartbroken. At just 20 years old, she carried dreams, hope, and a future full of promise. She will be remembered for her spirit, her presence, and the love she shared with those around her.

As the community mourns, thoughts and prayers are with Kaniya’s family during this unimaginable loss. May Kaniya Durr rest in eternal peace, her memory living on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. 🕊️
