ELLETTSVILLE, Ind. — A deep sense of sorrow hangs over Ellettsville as the community mourns the tragic loss of life following a deadly head-on crash Thursday night along West State Road 46.

According to the Ellettsville Police Department, the fatal collision occurred just before 9 p.m. on Dec. 18 near North Cypress Lane. A preliminary investigation indicates that a vehicle traveling westbound crossed the center line and struck an eastbound vehicle head-on. Taylor Ferguson was one of two occupants in the westbound vehicle, and both tragically lost their lives at the scene as a result of the severe impact.

First responders arrived quickly and worked to assist those involved. Three people riding in the eastbound vehicle were injured and transported to a Bloomington-area hospital, where they were treated and later reported to be in stable condition.
